Alabama White Sauce
Ingredients:
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste for spiciness)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon horseradish sauce
Instructions:
1. In a mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and horseradish sauce.
2. Whisk all the ingredients together until well combined and the sugar is dissolved.
3. Taste and adjust the seasoning according to your preference. You can add more cayenne or red pepper flakes for extra heat or adjust the sweetness with more brown sugar if desired.
4. Once thoroughly mixed, cover the bowl and refrigerate the sauce for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.
5. Serve the Alabama White Sauce as a dipping sauce for grilled or smoked chicken, turkey, or other meats. It can also be used as a marinade or a basting sauce during cooking.
